A Daruma doll (Japanese: 達磨, Hepburn: daruma) is a hollow, round, Japanese traditional doll modeled after Bodhidharma, the founder of the Zen tradition of Buddhism. These dolls, though typically red and depicting the Indian monk, Bodhidharma, vary greatly in color and design depending on region and artist.T hough considered a toy by some, Daruma has a design that is rich in symbolism and is regarded more as a talisman of good luck to the Japanese. The doll has also been commercialized by many Buddhist temples to use alongside the setting of goals.
When you have too much time to think, instead, play.
As a musician, artist, and designer, I believe in play. Play is essential to our well-being, our craft, and our soul. But zooming out a bit, it's vital to us all as humans.
When we detach ourselves from outcomes, internal judgment, and just- play, we are freed from the constraints of "profession" and set adrift in a sea of unbridled adventure. We become that kid with a new pair of sneakers that we are confident can make us run --faster.
